DEFEND role: Work package leader for WP8

Loïc Comtet has been working for over 15 years developing veterinary ELISAs.

He has extensive experience in the production of recombinant proteins, monoclonal antibodies, as well as ELISA development and validation. He participated in the development and validation of a BSE test (Institut POURQUIER), approved by the EC in 2005.

He currently leads the R&D team for ruminant and porcine ELISA kits at Innovative Diagnostics – Idvet. He has headed up the development of many kits and has been involved in the design and implementation of numerous field validation studies. He also has experience in scale-up and technology transfer to production and will be able to share his experience and know-how as an industry collaborator for this project.
