Dr. Mercedes Mouriño is the Research and Emerging Diseases Director, Veterinary Medicine R&D, at Zoetis Manufacturing and Research Spain S.L.

In Zoetis, a world leader animal health company, Mercedes supervises the research laboratory group located in Spain and the activities related with the development in the EU of vaccines against Emerging Infectious Diseases.

She received her degree in Biology and her PhD in Microbiology from the University of Barcelona, Spain. She has 25 years’ experience in Research and Development for animal vaccines. She and her team have brought several vaccines to the European markets: among the latest approvals were Suvaxyn® CSF Marker (Classical Swine Fever virus), Zulvac® SBV (Schmallenberg virus) and several Zulvac® BTV vaccines (Bluetongue virus, several serotypes, for sheep and cattle).
